Creosote Removers for the Chimney

It is important not to let creosote build up in your firebox or chimney. If you find there is creosote that is not removed with chimney cleaning, you can use any of the sprays below to chemically change the creosote glaze to a powder that can be brushed off with your next chimney cleaning. Simply spray all the wood before you burn it and that's all there is to it. Use up the whole bottle and have your chimney cleaned again. The area should now be free of creosote. Cre-Away;ITEM #801-SQUEEZE BOTTLE @$16.25, Cre-Away Pro;ITEM #24632-25 LB CONTAINER @$154.50 Cre-Away Pro has 50% more magnesium catalyst than regular Cre-Away and is sold in money saving bulk 25 lb. pails. You'll need the Pro Applicator and your own air bottle or compressor to apply it. Regulate the pressure to about 20 p.s.i. and blast the Cre-Away Pro up the flue until it is thoroughly coated. This is a great product for easily removing creosote. Here's how it works: Just use the Cre-Away Applicator to by simply attaching the applicator to compressed air. The powder will nicely coat the inside of the flue. Continue burning your fireplace or appliance, then have your chimney brushed several weeks later. The creosote will have turned to an ash like substance that can easily be swept away. That's it. Try it for yourself. We use it!

Safe, can-not be overused. Available in quart spray
bottles. Great for air-tight stoves and
fireplaces. 
A great
product to help prevent glazed creosote buildup, or to loosen-up
glaze before you a sweep the chimney. Comes in quart
sprayer. Stage One is a granulated powder that is just
sprinkled on a fire; comes is 2# tub. Gallon is NO
longer available.
Cre-Away
is a dry chemical that you just spray on glazed creosote lined
chimney. As you continue to burn the fireplace Cre-Away reacts
with the glaze and converts it into a brushable form of soot (about
one or two weeks). You get 2 or 3 treatments out of each
squeeze bottle. 
Gas logs are designed to not burn
clean. In order to get that yellow flame, the gas logs limit
the oxygen. This may lead to unsightly soot
accumulation. ACS pints are designed to remove this
accumulation. Just spray in on a hot fire, that's
all there is to it. Note: not
recommended for white logs!
