Fireplaces with gas logs really benefit from the use of a Heat Reflector / Shield. Choice of "Wheat" etched pattern, plain stainless or black. Made of heavy-duty 14 gauge 304 stainless steel for long life. Comes with a five year burn through guarantee.
Stainless Steel support legs come with each Heat Reflector/Shield. Using the slots in the legs you can create different angles for maximum benefit.

Great for protecting masonry fireplaces from heat
damage and getting additional heat out of any open fireplace
(20%-30% or more depending on the fireplace). The "HEAT
REFLECTOR/SHIELD" can also restore the insulation value in
pre-fab, zero-clearance factory built fireplaces. Factory
built fireplaces come with a firebox made up of 3 ceramic
pieces, the two sides and the back wall. These ceramic pieces
are brittle. When logs are thrown against them they crack and
lose part of their insulation value that keeps the heat from
transferring into the structure. Adding a Heat
Reflector/Shield restores the insulation value and gives more
heat! In addition, you no longer have to be careful putting
logs into the fireplace because stainless steel doesn't
crack! 
In an unprotected
fireplace, heat is absorbed into the back wall of the fireplace,
which causes the bricks to crack and the mortar that holds the
chimney together to break down, leading to
repairs.

Firebacks are designed
to protect the back fireplace wall and to reflect more heat into the
