THE Flint River Ranch Story 

Behind every business venture there is a story

Flint River Ranch is a private company created and owned by Jim Flint. The total story spans the "reality test" of fifty years of personal business experience and includes the wisdom, advice, insights, inspirations, dedication and contributions of many people. The company is structured to continue on into the future with the support of family and a staff of dedicated people.

The business was first structured to provide the very finest feline and canine foods. The very best industry nutritionists, consultants, manufacturers. suppliers and veterinary talents and experiences were utilized in identifying the quality ingredients and manufacturing processes. This combination was used to carefully formulate the finest products available that would sincerely contribute to the health and quality lifestyle of our family companions. When this goal was realized, the product was manufactured and delivered to the Riverside warehouse on Columbus Day, October 12, 1993. A fitting date for our exciting business "voyage" into the future.

The second goal was -to utilize the dynamic changes and tangible forces taking place in the market and the way people purchase products. The major shift evolved from people shopping at home to make things easier, to relieve time stress and unwanted elements in their lives. A program was structured to keep things simple and provide services and products that reduce the complexity for the consumer. This was supported by a desire to merit public acceptance with strict attention to service and for a continued dedication to the business of Flint River Ranch - providing the highest quality canine and feline foods.

Third, it was the goal to structure Flint River Ranch as a vehicle designed to kindle the spirit of entrepreneurship and individual opportunity with a distributor supported direct-marketing program. The business truly belongs deep in the hearts and minds of a growing team of Independent Flint River Ranch Distributors that share products and information with other pet owners - like the person who introduced you to Flint River Ranch. These dedicated individuals embrace the opportunity and accept the responsibility to own and manage their own business - turning dreams into reality.

Thanks to the support and interest of all the distributors - along with continued improvement and development of quality products - Flint River Ranch has grown from a single California warehouse to multiple distribution centers across the United States.

The Flint River Ranch Difference

Is there a difference between beef tenderloin and chuck roast? Both cuts of meat are from beef and yet one has a greater value. What's the difference between a Lincoln and a Ford Taurus? They both have an engine, four tires,

steering wheel and headlights and will get you where you want to go and yet one is priced considerably higher.  ­Using the same cake recipe, one baker over another can produce far superior results. We can all agree that there are small, subtle differences that sets the quality of all of these products apart.

There are also subtle differences in pet foods. Manufacturers can appear to use the same formula and ingredient list for their dry cat foods-but there are major subtle differences that can be appreciated by cat owners who care about their family pets when they read and understand the ingredient label. Flint River Ranch ash content is less than 4.5%; compared to others in the range of 5.5% to 6.5%. We use a better grade of ingredients and meat with­out bone as bone meal is a source of ash. We use pure chicken fat, not mixed animal fats for our fat source. Our Iamb meal is meat not Lamb digest which is made from rendered lamb by-products. Flint River Ranch magnesium is maximum 0.08% compared to other brands at 0.095% and 1.00%. Both low ash and low magnesium promotes low urinary pH and helps prevent FUS.
